CMA isn't a program, it's just an online service that you can manage from your phone also. With my CMA account I have an address book where I can add contacts or import them. I've imported from Gmail and Outlook but I think there's Yahoo and a few others too. A great thing is if you call an email it records what you say and sends it as an attachment to the contact or group of contacts for free.

Being able to make calls for free over Skype is a great thing and I guess people will make allowances for poor call quality and both people being tied to a computer just for the fact that it's free (and you can have conference calls!) I still use it for the instant messaging but now my account with CMA is set up I find it easier just to ring someone through that - then neither of us have to be on their computer. At 1.1 pence per minute it might as well be free anyway.

Let me know if you try out CMA or see any other services out there :)

In response to:Brand new Skype Beta, really improved sound experinece !!!

Hi,

I am really glad to read your comment on this issue.
Telling the truth, I am a kind of Skype addict.
I tell you why. Because I share your opinion that Skype is a great tool if you are sitting in front of your computer and I do. All my numbers together, drag and drop file transfer are only two possibilities that are so important to me.

Further we started to use it 2 years ago, when you had not much oportunities to call cheaper and I make a lot of international calls. It meant 90% saving from the first month.
Conference chats, calls became daily worktools for 0 cost.
I agree that audio quality sometimes is a problem, but improving and happens that better than normal phone line.
Sure, if you know something better, it is really welcome, I am going to try that CMA.

In response to:Brand new Skype Beta, really improved sound experinece !!!

Hi!

I've been using Skype at work for a while and it sucks big time!! There are so many problems, especially to do with showing people's status , ie. not allowing your messages through even though the other person is online or showing them as online until you send them a message then it says "message cannot be delivered" and shows them as offline. Plus calls can be a nuisance at times

I don't know whether it's Skype maintenance causing the problems but they happened for over a month before I went elsewhere.

Plus, the future of VoIP is in the hands of the people who don't need you to be attached to your computer to make a cheap international call, one I've found is connectmeanywhere.com. I suppose the big weight is if the Skype Starfish thing comes off with Vodafone, then they'd knock out all competition.

In response to:Am I really geek?

"Be nice to a geeks, you will probably work for one someday"
